After spending over 18 years in the gourmet coffee industry, Thom Fuhrmann believes he has found the perfect combination of the finest certified fair trade organic coffees and the ultimate roasting process. Monkey and son utilizes a Northern German style of roasting that involves “smoking” and then air-cooling the beans at the end of the roast. This “smoking” step, allows the beans to linger in their own aroma, recapturing much of the flavor and aroma released during the roasting.
Just as importantly, they have the peace of mind in knowing that all of their coffees are grown without chemicals or pesticides and the growers of these fine coffees are being fairly compensated. All of our coffees are 100% certified fair trade organic.
